New addition

Blue-eyed puppy
Originally uploaded by sbjuengst.

This is Sadie. She is ours and will be moving home around Thanksgiving (right after LHPJ finishes his project exams).

We have been talking about doing this for a couple of years now, and had decided that it was not feasible until AFTER LHPJ finishes his exams. And now, that time is nearly upon us. Visitors who want to shower her (and Pancho!!!) with attention are more than welcome.

She's 4 weeks old in this picture.

EEEE! PUPPY!!! So cute!

Full GSD or shepherd mix? Poor Poncho - he's not going to be teh big dog for much longer. :)

she's about 95% german shepherd. her mother is a pure-bred, show-quality shepherd whose puppies usually go for about $3000. yes, that is the correct number of zeroes following that three.

her father, though, is only about 90% shepherd. we're not sure what the other 10% is. needless to say, this litter was not part of the owner's plan. so, we're getting her minus the last zero on the price tag.

no, pancho won't be the big dog for long. but sadie is a very docile and sweet dog, so we're hoping that they bond quickly, before she's TOO much bigger than him.

He's just precious. Reminds me of the picture I have of my Brody on the fridge from the first week we had him (age 12 weeks). Of course, now that he's a year-and-a-half he looks a lot different, but he's still my litte bear. (FYI...he's a soft-coated wheaten terrier)

Terriers are pretty crazy, but I like them a lot. Sadie's going to look A LOT different - about 10 times as big (literally!). She will be 4 of Pancho (if Pancho's diet is successful, that is).

Still, Pancho did superbly this weekend having a dog who is twice the size (almost exactly) of what Sadie will be (yes, that's 140 pounds of dog) in his house. So I think it will go well.

And I thought I didn't get enough sleep now!!

The best thing about wheaten terriers is that they hardly ever bark. And that's the best thing in the world.

I'm a bit jealous of your pooches. My schedule is too crazy for dogs and it's mighty difficult to find a place around here that will rent for pets, let alone the sort of dog I'd be interested in having - definitely bigger than the 25 lbs weight limit you find and most likely some random pit mix from the pound. So many rental places are really stupid about breeds and have a huge number of them banned from renting. Bah. So it's just me and my pure-bred gerbils. :)

Also, 140 lbs? Daaaaaamn, that's a big dog. Can't wait to meet her before she skyrockets. :)

well, our pooch will only be 70-75 pounds, so not that huge. But our friend's dog (and Pancho's friend) is 140 pounds. He's a whole lotta dog.
