3 days of Johnstown - oh what fun
This week, I get to go out to Johnstown an extra day. And it's a Friday at that!!! WOO HOO! Still, it makes up for the day last week when the weather sucked so much that it was too dangerous to make the long drive over the mountain. I already went yesterday, and I have to get up at some ungodly hour of the morning to go again tomorrow.
Really, that is my life right now. Working at HGA (johnstown) and here for UPMC (old job), going to class, and being with the dogs. Sometimes I sleep and do fun things too...sometimes. Well, being with the dogs is often fun. I have many pictures yet to be developed. Sadie is now 50 pounds and growing. Pancho is down to 18 pounds again and shrinking (1 or 2 more to go, and he'll be in good shape!!).
We have to start brushing Pancho's teeth, now that they are nice and clean. The toothpaste we got from the vet is "Poultry falvored". EEEEWWWWYYYYYYYUCK! Not chicken flavored, but POULTRY. I suppose it has a hint of goose and an aftertaste of smoked pheasant?
The alarm is going off in less than 10 hours, and it's not even 8pm yet. *sigh* Oh to be a morning person...
5 days and counting
Wednesday morning, I woke up sick. Now, five days later, I feel worse than ever. Stupid cold. I have no choice but to go to work tomorrow - out in Johnstown (=1.5 hour drive each way). At least tomorrow I don't have to drive myself. Still, no good. To make the day even better, I have 3 hours of STATISTICS as soon as I get back from work. WOO HOO!!! I am overjoyed. Overwhelmed. I have no words.

These may take a few minutes to load, but they should work.

Is there anybody out there????
I'm supposed to be in class right now. Why am I not in class, you might ask?
I have NO IDEA where my class is! I went to the room that it was in last week, and nobody is there. I searched other classrooms and can't locate them. In fact, there is NO ONE in the building!! Normally there are people in the lounge or walking through the halls, but it is SILENT here right now. I feel like it's 10:00pm or something. I even double checked the date on the computer to make sure I really knew what day it was. What the hell???? WHERE IS MY CLASS???????
I didn't have any email and there is no sign on the classroom door announcing a room change. I was ten minutes late to class, so maybe they all went somewhere together and didn't feel the need to announce it or leave word behind.
So, I'm going home. Unfortunately, I'm missing one of only 5 lectures this semester in this class. But, what else could I do? This is very strange. **cue Twilight Zone music***

Happy New Year
Welcome to 2006. :)
And so the semester begins. Work resumes as normal and classes start tomorrow night. I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of all of my overpriced books. yay. It is colder and rainier in Johnstown today than back in Pittsburgh. My office here (which isn't really MY office, but the spare office that I use when I'm here) is dark and grey...and cold. I'm hungry.
Highlights from the holiday break:
- Christmas dinner consisted of frozen chicken nuggets. They have never tasted so delicious. We spent the early part of the day driving around trying to find somewhere to eat lunch. Then, we went home and watched lots of football. This year, I've really gotten sucked in to football. Gives me something to watch in the baseball off-season.
- New Year's Eve was quieter than last year, but still a good time. I got to see some friends I haven't seen in many, many weeks. Just about everyone we knew was out of town this year for the holidays, so the entire break was pretty quiet for us.
- One of my friends lost a finger a couple of weeks ago. I had NO idea that this had happened until I saw him and he said, "Hey Schna, want to see my injury?" Of course, I said yeah. Then he raises his left hand and VOILA - no pinky. It was most surprising. I told him that I will have to make fun of him endlessly now that he is "subhuman". :)
Which reminds me...
I used to have a friend who had lost his arm just above the elbow. He got a kick out of bopping me on the head with (what he affectionately called) his stump. I suppose I was situated at the just the right height for this. Anyway, that's a tangent...
- Sadie continues to grow and grow and grow. She is easily over 40 pounds now and still going. She and Pancho got a giant hedgehog with a santa hat for Christmas and they LOVE it. I have a video clip of them playing with it which I would post if I knew how. Anyone know how to do this?
Okay, time to get to work. :)
Happy 2006!
